“red goes green” for World Sustainability Day
- ,
Sustainability requires a global commitment, and at Aalberts integrated piping systems, we’re honored to be leading this mission with the dedication of our exceptional team.
This year, we introduced the “red goes green” sustainability challenge to recognize the impactful steps our employees are already taking—and the responses have been genuinely inspiring.
Over ten days, the challenge encouraged employees to adopt sustainable practices into their daily routines. The campaign, which brought together participants from across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions, sought to inspire small yet significant actions that contribute to a more sustainable future. This initiative reinforces sustainability as a core focus in both our operations and our corporate culture.
Our campaign had a truly international reach, gathering responses from participants in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, the Middle East, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK, China, and Taiwan. The “red goes green” challenge outlined 23 specific actions across five main areas: recycling, home living, cooking and diet, consumer choices, and transportation. At the challenge’s conclusion, employees completed a survey to reflect on the impact of their efforts, with results showing impressive global participation in sustainable practices.
Among the top activities, 43% of participants chose to walk or cycle for short trips to cut down on emissions, while 34% reduced food waste by using leftovers creatively. Recycling efforts were also popular, with 31% opting for reusable coffee mugs and water bottles, and 25% making use of mixed recycling bins. The campaign helped raise awareness of daily habits that support a sustainable lifestyle, from unplugging idle devices to researching environmentally friendly products.
Although our 2024 “red goes green” campaign has concluded, our dedication to creating a sustainable future continues. We aim to build on this momentum, demonstrating that sustainability isn’t just a temporary initiative but a lasting commitment.
